I'd be surprised if you were reading this page and were completely unaware of Pokémon, but if so here's a brief summary. It's a multimedia franchise beginning in 1996 with the video games Pokémon Red and Green developed by GAME FREAK. Since then, it's become one of most popular series in the world, with new games, anime episodes, TCG expansions, and more coming out all the time. (whether or not that's a good thing is up to you)
I first got into Pokémon at the age of around six or seven, when a friend showed me their Pokémon book on the playground at school. Biggest mistake anyone's ever made, because I was instantly hooked and it's been such a huge part of my life ever since. I got my first main series game (Platinum) a few years later, and it's still one of my most played games of all time. (at over 313 hours!) Since then the series has been pretty much my main interest; others come and go, but this is one of the few that remained consistent over the years and never faltered in strength.
I've been to Worlds a few times (as a spectator) and it's always such a fun experience! Being around people who love the series just as much as I do from all over the world is extremely cool and I miss it so much. I probably won't be able to go again until it's back in the US (at least for now) and I'll be eagerly awaiting it until then.
